I’m Rhachel Toombs and I’m running for mayor of Jacksonville.
I grew up in Florida, and I already serve you as a civil servant in Public Works. I’ve seen how our city government runs from the inside, and I’ve spent years in policy advocacy to fix broken systems. I know what’s broken here, and I know how to fix it.
Toombs is a Florida native and the first active City of Jacksonville civil servant, incoming chief union steward, and Jewish woman to run for Mayor of Jacksonville. Her background is in education, music, issue advocacy, and management. Working alongside folks here in Jacksonville, she helped win the fight to end corporate welfare across Florida.
Living in Beijing after college made her a firm believer in democratic markets and liberalism. She wants a city government that stays in its lane and makes life better for every Jaxon, not just the special interests and the well-connected. Jacksonville has put up with decades of empty promises from Republican and Democratic insiders alike. Toombs is running to finally deliver real fixes instead of more promises.
